Complaint #: 141
STAY FAR AWAY!! SCAMMERS
Where do I even start!

My husband and I both purchased a $79 service from grab one. I also asked the guys to WOF my car when they complete my service. My husbands car was first, a weekend before my car was booked in. Even though his car has regularly been maintained by VW, according to these guys his engine was rattling so badly, it required new brackets to be put on and wanted to quote him for it then and there. He declined as any engine work he takes to VW. Turns out, there is no rattle to his engine at all.

Next weekend, my Yaris was up for its WOF and Service...At pick up I was told 3 components of my vehicle is in need of repair and the cost would be $682.00 (keep in mind this is after already paying $132 for a service and WOF that they failed me on). As you can imagine I was shocked as my car is serviced every 6 months.

I didn't feel comfortable with what the guy was telling me so I called Midas to confirm. They advised I should bring the car in for a check (I've never used Midas before). After their inspection it turns out there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with my car. In order to be un-biased they sent my car to VTNZ for an independent WOF inspection and I passed with flying colors. To my surprise I was also told that my oil wasn't changed, something that was stated clearly to be included in the service on the grab one deal.

I have contracted them via e-mail today requesting a refund (including all the info provided by Midas and VTNZ). Let's see whether The owner Ganesh will give me my money back. These people should NOT be in business.

Hi Surie ,why don't we start from getting your car checked a L.T.S.A officer or reviewer? You can call LTSA and lodge a complait about us or me on 0800699000.I think you will find your car will fail terribly and there will be whole lot of investigation going on around wof inspection by VTNZ. Didn't YOU wonder why MIDAS is not doing warrant's by themself's and sending all there W.O.F inspection's to the VTNZ ?!? These type of consumer complaint is easy to make on the internet. GET A LIFE PEOPLE.cALL ltsa 0800699000.

As mentioned Ganesh, Midas sent the car to VTNZ to get an independent WOF done on order to be un-biased. You're rude emails accusing me of swearing at you is also very unprofessional as with you mentioning "get a life people" in your above comment. Not the traits of a good business owner. As mentioned guys, if you have used This company before, get a second opinion from professionals. These guys are scammers

Hi Surie, I think being honest and straight forward is not being rude but I am trying to run a honest business with facts on my side and would like people like you and few other's that have posted here to get the fact's and I am challenging to get legal opinion and review before posting anything. Yes I can post thing's here as well just like you can.
Thanks
Gyanesh

I am doing things the legal way. I have lodged this matter with Diaputes a tribunal, upon the advise from LTNZ and also wrote a formal complaint. It is also strange that you accuse me of swearing in my email when I didn't. When I advised you to please go ahead and send my email to the police (whom you threatened me with) you quickly changed your tone saying you received another email from another unhappy customer about the same thing that contained swearing it in. So it seems myself and the other complaining on here aren't the only ones who are so over your scamming business and taking action.

There are 3 other complaints against your business here buddy:

http://www.consumercomplaints.co.nz/complaint.php?comp=135
http://www.consumercomplaints.co.nz/complaint.php?comp=106
http://www.consumercomplaints.co.nz/complaint.php?comp=15

There is a clear pattern of rudeness in your part and also blatant ripoff / scam by using bait and switch deals from grabone. Yeah, get a cheap WOF voucher from grabone so we can find nail you for non-existent "issues" with your car. People like you make me sick.

So Lampshank buddy, I am straight forward but can't be rude for sure.I don't know whom you are or why is this is related to you?You think, You guy's have all the right to write things on the internet without even getting the fact's? If you are that concerned I am really looking forward to see a legal action for all the above comment's. I know I have some right's as well. I have been in this business for th last 21 year's. I don't like being accused of something I haven't done so I would like this taken further into with the LTSA. I need this car re-checked for wof under New zealand transport agency inspection officer. I will be writing to the LTSA to get this car back for inpection.
I have a reason to believe that this matter has to be taken further for the safety of the vehicle driver and other road user's.I will do my work honestly as I have been doing so far.I don't need your opnion.I have had more then 3000 time we've worked on new customers and repeat customer's car in the last 6 year's and I have three complaints on this site. You do the equation buddy.I am very proud of my services.
Thanks
Gyanesh

You wont touch my car ever again! Disputes tribunal has my claim upon the advise from LTNZ. If anyone is to inspect the car (or any of the above people's cars whom has complained) it will be an independant inspector that LTNZ selects. NOT your business that's for sure.

Hi Gyanesh, I look forward to your so called "legal action". By the way, have you tried googling your business name "metro auto services". The second result is a complaint against your business. Imagine all those people googling your business name just to find these complaints against your company. You keep saying "I am straight forward...". Just look at how much hot water your straight-talking has landed your business in.

It's best you admit the fact you rip unsuspecting people off. Obviously business is not that good otherwise you'd not be on grabone selling your $79 service for a mere $19...and grabone takes a BIG chunk of that $19 (I know). So you end up doing a lot of work for something like $7 and tend to make up for that by faking repairs. It's text-book scam artist stuff. Having owned many cars myself and having to deal with scumbags bait and twist businesses like these, I know how it all works.

Hi Lampshack,Its good people can see my comments as well. I am putting these comment for that very reason. I don't think I'm in hot water at all. I am commenting just like you are . It doesn't affect me or my business at all. I just need thing's to be factual that's all. I think Surie is seeing the LTSA and Disputes tribunal. So will be waiting to hear from them.People with commonsence will understand.
Thanks
Gyanesh

OMG I had the same experience! Rude, dis-honest service.

My car is a 2015 model that is still under the 5 year Mitsubishi warranty. It has been serviced each year and had no issues to date until I made the mistake of taking up a grabone deal for a service with Metro Auto Services. I was told I needed $780 worth of work done to the car (new brakes, camshaft position sensor replacement and a few other things).

Obviously furious, I took it back to the Mitsubishi dealer I bought the car from and they checked the car, advising nothing is wrong with it. Still not satisfied, I took the car for an independent check at Midas whom also confirmed a for a check whom confirmed the same as Mitsubishi, nothing is wrong with the car.

I cannot believe Metro Auto Services Limited is allowed to operate, being so dis- honest.
