Complaint #: 188
Dishonest and unreliable,overcharged,200% mark up on parts.
Took my ford courier Ute to South Wairarapa Auto services for a WOF; failed WOF, needed handbrake repairs.
The bill just got bigger, and bigger total over $1,500.00.
The found the owner had charge over $270.00 for a rear wheel brake cylinder which details at $70.00 at Repco Auto.
I also realised that John Abbot South Wairarapa Auto services had also charged $350.00 for two handbrake cables.
John Abbot also did the timing and told me my rear tyres were had it; they were not, he replaced them anyway.
I payed the $1,500.00 bill, had to borrow money to pay it.
Took my little 84 Ford Courier home.
It was back firing a bit, three days after South Wairarapa Auto Services put a WOF warrant of fitness on my utility vehicle, I was turning into High street Carterton, my Ute backfired and stalled, the Burgundy People mover behind me nearly crashed into my Ute.
The Ute was unsafe, so parked it up and tried to fix it myself; I purchased a distributor cap and rotor from Repco Masterton store, I could not get my Ute running, so phoned John Abbot South Wairarapa Auto Services, John charged me an further $150.00 to fit the distributor cap and rotor, and put HT leads back.
After talking to a friend about the bill from South Wairarapa Auto Services Ltd, I realised I had been ripped off for hundreds of dollars, so today I went into John Abbots business and asked him about the huge bill, and that he had overcharged me, he became very abusive, and even threatened to assault me as I was leaving, I informed him I was going to take him to the small claims tribunal, this is why he became abusive, I also became angry, but decided to leave because he was looking like he was going to hit me.
Thumbs down 1 time

I think you got ripped off twice. First you bought a Ford. Secondly you bought one that's 33 years old. What you call "ripped off" is called "nice profits" in the Auto Services businesses. All the best at small claims tribunal. This is why I stick to Japaneses Vehicles.
