Complaint #: 360
Barfoot & Thompson - West Harbour
Karen Myung of Barfoot and Thompson West Harbour lied to myself and my partners face and wasted two weeks of our time.

We enquired about a property located at 18 Vazey Way. When we asked Myung what the vendors expectations were in regards to price she said (and this is a direct quote) "above 1.6".

Myself and my partner were happy with this figure as it was well within our budget.

We had concerns about specific details in the property documents. When we bought these concerns to Myung she had no idea what we were talking about and had to stop herself mid sentence from saying "I haven't read the documents".

Finally the property went to auction last Friday (the 16th of April). The bidding started at 2 million. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, there was no one interested.

Myung then rung my partner shortly after the auction ended. Obviously we were extremely surprised the starting price of the property was 2 million, when we were told the vendor expected (and once again I quote) "above 1.6 million".

Myung then blatantly lied to my partner and denied ever saying that the vendors expectations were "above 1.6 million". My partner then asked again what the vendors expectations were, Myung then said "high 1 millions". My partner then asked "how much would it take for me to own the property". Myung then said "over 2 million".

She changed her story several times not only before the auction but several times in the phone call after the auction had ended.

Not recommended. All around a terrible experience
